All Star Mock Draft Showdown Extravaganza

As everyone is well aware the All-Star break is right around the corner. SO, because we were so excited and overwhelmed with anticipation for how the draft would turn out, it was decided that there would be no more waiting and we would just do one for ourselves....

yaayyyy...

So for whatever reason it ended up being Evan and myself, plotted against the Lone and Fearless Adam. Adam got pretty screwed actually because not only was he on his own but we did two coin tosses, (One for pick of captain and one for first pick) and he lost both. Although it was only a small, meaningless victory for the Evan Quinn combo because Adam's tough luck had little to no effect on his expert drafting strategies.

We followed the same rules for the draft.
Goalies by 10 and Defense by 15.
Shit go
t real.
This is what we ended up with.

Evan and I decided to leave our teams fate in the (Swedish, yet capable) hands of Nick Lidstrom

We felt pretty good with what we came up with on offense. Obviously the combos of Stamkos/ St. Louis and Richards/Eriksson should perform pretty well together and I'm personally excited to see how young talents Skinner and Duchene fair against the other All-Stars of the NHL.

Defense

Defensively I guess everything went ship shape, not that it will really play a huge role in the game. We ended up pairing Lidstrom/Boyle, Chara/Yandle, Kieth/Karlsson.
Feels good.

Adam, though stuck with the Canadian Eric Staal as a team leader, ended up stringing together some solid lines.

So yeah, Adam ended up with both Flyers and a Toews/Sharp combo so that's pretty solid. The
whole thing was kind of a failure though because he was left with the last pick of Elias.. To which I say tehe.

Defense

A certain someone decided to take Letang as the fourth overall pick.. But, in all fairness, I have respect for the homer choice because that's something any good homer would do. I'm pretty jelly about Dustin Byfuglien as well but it's whatever, you got Marc Staal.

In sum i guess our little experiment went pretty well and it will be interesting to see how things end up playing out. All that can really be said now is that it would probably be a lot more interesting if teammates and brothers got plotted against one another, especially in the case of the Staals. I'm actually pretty sure the NHL arranged for them to be on separate teams in the years they were drafted, solely because they didn't want any franchise crowd to suffer through farmers on ice soooo yeah that's that.

And oh yeah goalies..forgot. Their existence is hardly necessary for this game, but Evan and I ended up getting Tim Thomas so I'm over it.
I aint tryin' to care.
