The Wonderful World of a Sedin v. Sedin All-Star Game

Earlier tonight the NHL held its much publicized All-Star Fantasy Draft. One of the results of the drafted teams was the separation of the Sedin twins, as Daniel was picked by Team Staal and Henrik by Team Lidstrom, pitting the two brothers against each other for the first time in their careers. So fortunately viewers won't have to deal with the issue of properly identifying which brother is which.

This isn't even fair, their mother can't even tell them apart.

Which is really the best thing for this game.

Make the jump.

From the NHL's standpoint the division of Sedins is the best thing that could happen for this game, being that the All-Star Game is majorly publicized, and is generally tooled toward less hardcore NHL fans to better the game. Such casual fans shouldn't be bothered with the task of trying to distinguish between identical twins for the duration of the game.

In addition to that, it may be for the best of the game, seeing as the putting the Sedins together allows them to create a well-oiled hockey destroying machine... like Voltron...

...but Swedish.

...especially if the brothers were to be drafted to Team Staal, where they would be united with fellow Canuck and linemate Ryan Kesler.

So really its for the best to break the family ties for this occasion, and I'm sure the Sedins themselves don't mind a little sibling rivalry fueling their competitive spirits for the Skills Competition (Saturday) and Game (Sunday.)

Also, this raises the possibility of a dance-off.

I'll take any excuse to post this.

If Versus wants the ratings, they're waiting on the dance floor.
