Round 1 Winding Down: Caps Advance

The Washington Capitals defeated the New York Rangers yesterday by a score of 3-1 and go on to win the series 4 games to 1.  The Caps join the Detroit Red wings as the only other team so far to win their series.  Detroit swept Phoenix 4-0.

Another game played yesterday, game 5 of the Boston-Montreal series, went to overtime.  That series was tied 2-2 so this game would prove to be critical.

About halfway through the first, Bruins forward Michael Ryder did this to keep the game scoreless:

Each team would get a goal and the game would eventually head to multiple overtimes.  Carey Price and Tim Thomas played unbelievable games, but in the second overtime, Nathan Horton ended it for Boston.
