San Jose GM Doug Wilson and Minnesota GM Chuck Fletcher are no strangers to each other. After last night, the GM's have completed two big trades with each other in just over a week.
Earlier, the Sharks traded Devin Setoguchi for All-Star defenseman Brent Burns. Now the teams have swapped superstar wingers, with San Jose sending Dany Heatley to Minnesota for Martin Havlat.
Both players will be a good addition to each team. This was a pretty even trade on both sides, but Heatley struggled in clutch situations for the Sharks so it seems that this is just a roster shakeup for both teams. The Sharks are hoping that Havlat can provide consistent scoring while the Wild can build their system around Heatley in some ways.
Only time will tell the real winner of this trade, but for now, both teams seem to have come out on top.
decent trade
ReplyDeleteVery curious to see how this all works out for both teams.
