NHL All-Star Skills Competition

Usually the Skills Competition is the most entertaining part of all star weekend, assuming that the game is just goal after goal with little to no defense to be found. This years competition was pretty entertaining. Also everything was sponsored.

Make the jump for our breakdown of the action...

Player intros took forever, but were cool with the exception of Patrick Sharp's.

Awkward City.

Staal won the puck toss and defers to Lidstrom.

Blackberry Breakaway Challenge:

Not many notable shots this year in my opinion.
Perry had a nice lacrosse-esque shot.
Ovechkin was flashy as always.
Fleury is the most entertaining goalie ever.
Price is not. What a dick.

Technical Standings
1st-Ovechkin
2nd-Subban
3rd-Eriksson

Standings in my Heart
1st-Marc-Andre Fleury
-----
McDonald's Accuracy Shooting

Shooting was pretty entertaining this year I thought.
Sharp went 4 for 4 but Toews called false start.
Then Daniel Sedin decided he wanted the competition
so he wrecked every target in the tricounty area in like 3 shots.

Sedin Wins 8-9
-----
Gatorade Skills Challenge Relay.

(One-timers to accuracy passing to weaving to puck handling to more accuracy shooting)
If it sounds like a mess, that's because it was a little bit of a mess. It was still entertaining and awesome to watch, but there were moments of concern.
Everyone messed up puck handling.
