NHL TRADE DEADLINE TRADES

A list of the trades to happen today, Monday the 28th:


The Atlanta Thrashers acquire Radek Dvorak and a 5th round pick in next years draft from the Florida Panthers for forwards Patrick Rissmiller and Niclas Bergfors. Bergfors may be the largest asset in the exchange. 


They also dealt Fredrik Modin to the Calgary Flames for a 7th round draft pick in next years draft.

The Washington Capitals receive Defenseman Dennis Wideman in exchange for forward Jake Hauswirth and a 2011 3rd round pick from the Florida Panthers.

The Panthers also traded forward Chris Higgins for Defenseman Evan Oberg and a 3rd round pick in next years draft from The Vancouver Canucks.


The Columbus Bluejackets dealt Defenseman Rotislav Klesla and forward Dane Byers to the Phoenix Coyotes for Defenseman Sami Lepisto and forward Scottie Upshall. We're anxious to see Dane Byers impact on the Phoenix franchise.

The Edmonton Oilers Defenseman Shawn Belle to The Colorado Avalanche for Defenseman Kevin Montgomery.


The Chicago Blackhawks acquire Chris Campoli and a conditional 7th round pick in exchange for Ryan Potulny and a conditional second round pick in next years draft from the Ottawa Senators.


The Carolina hurricanes trade forward Sergei Samsonov to the Florida Panthers for Defenseman Bryan Allen.


The Los Angeles Kings receive Dustin Penner from The Edmonton Oilers for Colton Teubert, a first round pick in next years draft and a conditional third round pick in the 2012 NHL draft. Dustin Penner should play a significant role in Los Angeles.

The New York Rangers exchange a 7th round pick for forward John Mitchell from the Toronto Maple Leafs.


The Anaheim Ducks trade forward Maxime Lapierre to The Vancouver Canucks for Joe Perrault and a 3rd round pick in next years draft.


The Washington Capitals Trade David Steckel and a 2nd round pick to The New Jersey Devils for Jason Arnott, who is probably the biggest asset in the deal.

The Philadelphia Flyers trade forwards Greg Moore and Michael Chaput to Columbus for forward Tom Sestito.

The Montreal Canadiens trade Defenseman Brett Festerling to The Atlanta Thrashers for Goaltender Greg MacIntyre.


All in all there were 15 trades today involving 32 players and 12 draft picks.
