NHL Playoffs Day 2: A Reoccurring Trend

Last nights games concluded all of the game ones in the series.  The games featured two shutouts and a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory. Credit goalies Carey Price and Ryan Miller with the shutouts.  Joe Pavelski scored in overtime for the Sharks.

Montreal 2 vs. Boston 0 (Game 1)

-Montreal was simply too much for Boston to handle as they go on to win 2-0.  Habs captain Brian Gionta netted both goals for Montreal and Carey Price was solid in net as he stopped all 31 shots he faced.  The win snaps Price's 8 game playoff losing streak.

Buffalo 1 vs. Philadelphia 0 (Game 1)

-Patrick Kaleta scored the only goal of the game for either team as he scored just 5 minutes into the third.   Sabres goalie Ryan Miller was unstoppable as he recorded the shutout.

San Jose 3 vs. Los Angeles 2 OT (Game 1)

Dany Heatley scored just 28 seconds into the game to give San Jose the early lead but LA hung in there the entire game to force overtime.  In overtime, Joe Pavelski recieved a pass from Ryan Clowe and netted the game winner with a sick wrist shot.

Here is the goal:

The games tonight include Tampa Bay vs. Pittsburgh, New York vs. Washington, Chicago vs. Vancouver, and Anaheim vs. Nashville.  All games are the second game of the series.

As far as my predictions are concerned, I went 2-1 yesterday bringing my total to 6-2.  Tonight, I predict that the Penguins, Rangers, Canucks, and Ducks will win.
