NHL Playoffs Day 3: Defensive Collapse

Four games were played last night, all of them being game 2's of the series. Last nights games featured much more scoring than seen in the previous nights.

Tampa Bay 5 vs. Pittsburgh 1 (Game 2)

-Tampa came out firing and never looked back.  They scored on their first two shots of the game which proved to be enough.  This was an ugly game for Pittsburgh and Marc-Andre Fleury.  It will be interesting to see how they respond at the St. Pete Times Forum.

Washington 2 vs. New York 0 (Game 2)

-Washington got second period goals from Jason Chimera and Jason Arnott and goalie Michael Neuvirth stopped all 22 shots he faced. The Capitals have done a terrific job of shutting down the Rangers offense. The Capitals now have a commanding 2-0 lead on the series as they head to New York for games 3 and 4.

Vancouver 4 vs. Chicago 3 (Game 2)

-The Canucks take a 2 games to none series lead over Chicago thanks to a two goal game from Daniel Sedin.  Ben Smith scored two goals for Chicago but it just wasn't enough.

Anaheim 5 vs. Nashville 3 (Game 2)

-After losing game one, the Ducks responded with a strong showing to take game two.  Bobby Ryan had 2 goals and Ryan Getzlaf, Teemu Selanne, and Corey Perry each had a goal.  The series is now tied up 1-1.

The games today are as follows.  Detroit vs. Phoenix, Buffalo vs. Philadelphia, Montreal vs. Boston, and Los Angeles vs. San Jose.

I predict that Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, and San Jose will win. Yesterday I went 2-2 bringing my record to 8-4.

In the Anaheim/Nashville game, Bobby Ryan was seen stepping on the skate of Jonathan Blum.  Ryan could see a suspension in the coming days.
